This full day photography tour offers an in-depth look at Big Island’s beauty and diversity. Known for having 8 out of 13 climate zones, Big Island has an abundance of breathtaking views that will delight creatives and adventurers alike!
The morning begins with a spectacular drive on Saddle Road, a highway nestled between the world’s tallest sea mountain Mauna Kea and the world’s most massive mountain Mauna Loa. You will get the opportunity to photograph the black lava fields with the caps of these mountains covered in Hawaiian snow.
A drive down to Hilo town will greet you with a burst of energy as the splendid waterfalls await – capture the famous Akaka and Rainbow Falls while you hear the unrivaled power of water coursing down hundreds of feet. Continue to a garden nestled in a valley by the ocean – Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden. This highly acclaimed garden allows you to take up-close shots of rare and exotic flora- over 1,800 species of tropical plants including orchids, banana groves & more in a tranquil setting, as well as a cascading waterfall.
In the afternoon, visit Laupahoehoe Point, a peninsula with black lava rocks on the shoreline that contrast beautifully with the deep blue ocean. We end this photo journey with the dramatic backdrop of lush cliffs at Waipio Valley Lookout.
Tour departs daily. We pick up from all resorts and hotels in Keauhou, Kona, Waikoloa, and Kohala area between 7 am to 8 am. Actual pick up time vary depending on location. Tour duration is around 8.5 hours.
What to bring and wear
Wear comfortable clothing in layers as temperatures vary from warm to cool. Covered walking shoes are required.
Group Size: Tours are limited to maximum 8 people per vehicle
Tour difficulty: Easy hiking over short distance. Ages 5 and older are recommended.
Included in the tour: local style picnic lunch consists of teriyaki chicken, fish, sweet potato, and steamed rice with assorted juices, snacks and bottled water. In addition, all park entrance fees, tripod, and rain gear.
Cancellation Policy: Minimum 24 hours notice for groups of 1-5, 48 hours notice for groups of 6 or more, and 72 hour notice for private groups to receive a full refund.
