Most of the time we are blessed with beautiful weather in Hawaii and the time of day, whether it be morning or afternoon, will make no difference. If we happen to have a rainy weather pattern the pilot will consult weather reports and other pilots who have been flying to determine if we can operate a good tour.

Being in the air is your best chance to see flowing lava but no particular sight can be guaranteed. Routes and times vary with wind and weather, and volcanic activity changes hourly.

Cell service is reliable near major towns like Kona, Hilo, and Waimea, but there are several remote stretches along the southern coastline, the Hamakua Coast, and within sections of the National Park where service can drop completely. Because the Big Island is so expansive, we do cover a lot of ground, but we pace the itinerary with frequent stops every 45 minutes to 1 hour. You won’t be stuck in a vehicle for long stretches.
